Due to the new traffic plan in Kotdwar, there is more jam
Even after the implementation of the new traffic and parking plan in the city, the traffic system on the National Highway is not taking the name of coming back on track. The situation is that in the peak time of morning and evening, there is more jam than before. In such a situation, there is a demand from the traders to change the parking arrangement made in the middle of the road on Badrinath Marg.
Due to the increasing pressure of vehicles and lack of proper parking arrangements in Kotdwar, the traffic system is not coming on track. Unclaimed animals are doing the right thing. Most of the jams are taking place on all the roads from Tehsil Tirahe to Jhanda Chowk and Lalbatti Chowk. In order to relieve the people from the traffic jam, while parking has been made in the middle of the road on Badrinath road by the police, two days ago one way has been implemented from Jhanda Chowk to Lalbatti Chowk. This system is also increasing the difficulty instead of jamming the traffic. From Lalbatti to Jhanda Chowk, there is more jam in the peak time than before. People associated with many organizations including Vivek Agarwal, District President of the Board of Trade, City Minister Lajpat Rai Bhatia, have said that the parking of vehicles in the middle of the road on the National Highway will cause more problems. Said that the Municipal Corporation and the police administration should make arrangements at the earliest by leveling the encroachments removed on both sides of the road.
Police experiments are creating more trouble for the people. The closure of any intersecion andt intersection bothers the local people, while the problem remains the same.
Traffic Inspector Shivkumar Singh says that the new traffic plan has been implemented on a pilot basis. Any permanent arrangement will be seen only after reviewing its merits and demerits.
