 Even though the Central and State Government are making efforts for awareness regarding compliance of traffic rules, but many people are not serious about the rules. Many people in the capital, Doon, are using traffic horns and retro silencers to break traffic rules. At the same time, people in Haridwar are second in modifying vehicles and installing retro silencers. In Nainital district people are using pressure horns in vehicles. According to Yatayat police data, the police in Uttarakhand campaigned against those using modified, retro silencers, hawking and pressure horns. Under this, out of a total of 5358 challans, 2793 challans were modified and 259 vehicles were seized. In this way, 2565 vehicles were challaned and 144 vehicles were seized using Hawking and pressure horns. According to police officials, cases of modified, retro silencer were caught in the highest number of Doon, in which the Doon police made 1411 vehicle invoices and 113 cases. Number two is Haridwar district where challans of 787 vehicles and 90 vehicles were seized. Dunwans are also ahead in using Hawking and pressure horns while Nainital is at number two. Doon Police made 689 invoices, Nainital Police 671 challans and Haridwar Police 388 invoices. Traffic director Kewal Khurana told that action is being taken against those who violate traffic rules by campaigning. Others including school students are also being made aware of the traffic rules. People, including two-wheelers, must wear ISI Marka helmets. While driving the car, definitely install seat belts. So that accidents can be prevented.
