Five AAP workers, including advocate Arvind Verma, arrested for burning DGP's effigy
Aam Aadmi Party workers protested against illegal mining and liquor as well as challans being made in helmets, protested from Lalbatti Chowk to Jhanda Chowk against the police officers including the DGP. As soon as AAP workers tried to burn the effigy of the DGP at Jhanda Chowk, the police arrested them
by snatching the effigy from them. Later, the Pargana Magistrate Court released the five activists on a personal bond. Many workers, including AAP's state spokesperson Advocate Arvind Verma, Rachna Rawat, Harshita, Rajendra Jjedi, Mahitab Singh and Jeevan Singh Jalal, came to Jhanda Chowk in the form of a procession from red beacons on Tuesday.
The procession was going on with drums. As the activists tried to burn the effigy of the DGP, the police took five prominent activists into custody.
While registering a case against him under sections of breach of peace, the police produced him in the court of Pargana Magistrate Yogesh Mehra.
AAP workers' advocate Pravesh Rawat told that the bail petition was filed on behalf of the five workers. The court ordered the release of all on personal bond. AAP leader
Advocate Arvind Verma said that an attempt has been made on his behalf to draw attention to the problems of the public, which did not go down well with the local police. However, the party was successful in raising its voice.
