 Kotdwar - Challan will be deducted for those who throw garbage on the road

 Additional Commissioner Garhwal Mandal Harak Singh took a meeting of councilors and officers regarding waste management and cleanliness in the city. 

 

He directed the Municipal Commissioner to deduct challans for those who throw garbage on the road, make arrangements for online payment of tax and user charges. He also inquired about door-to-door garbage collection. In the meeting held in the Municipal Auditorium, the Additional Commissioner directed the Municipal Commissioner to make three boxes for collecting dry waste, mixed waste and wet waste separately in garbage vehicles. Asked to keep one or two vehicles and the driver in reserve for regular garbage collection. He directed to set up a DPC center for the treatment of injured animals and to take action against those who put up illegal hoardings and wall paintings. Instructions were given to send a request for proposal (RFP) for bus stand and shopping complex in Motor Nagar.

 He also asked to take the cooperation of other institutions Vipin Dobriyal and Suraj Kanti including BEL to improve the arrangements of the Municipal Corporation. During the meeting, he appealed to the councilors to cooperate in making people aware to maintain cleanliness in the city. He instructed CO Anil Joshi to install CCTV cameras at all places. Mayor Hemlata Negi said that for the last three years, efforts have been made for the trenching ground. Now the land has become available. Municipal Commissioner PL Shah appealed to everyone to cooperate in making the city clean.

The Municipal Commissioner said that he cannot take any action against the law and rules. The matter can definitely be investigated. Additional Commissioner Garhwal Harak Singh directed to take action in this matter in a month.

The salary of ASHA working since 2006 has not been fixed yet, due to which they are facing financial crisis. ASHA workers warned of boycott from August 2 if the demands were not acted upon. Dugadda Block Vice President Meera Negi, Bhagirathi Bhandari, Neelam Kukreti, Pramila Gusain, Sumitra Bhatt, Maheshwari Devi, Tara Devi, Poonam Devi, Padma Negi, Deepa Rawat, Madhu Mamgai, Munni Devi, Suman Rauthan, Usha Devi, Basanti Rawat, Rajni Devi and Rekha Devi were present.
