Ashok Leyland-special vehicles Indian Air Force ready to respond to terrorist attacks,  -

Indian Air Force officials said that Light Bullet Proof Vehicles (LBPV) have been included and will be deployed at the airbase to prevent any terrorist attack.

Since the terrorist attack on Pathankot Airbase, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has become very alert about security. In this series, the Indian Air Force has now included special vehicles that can withstand bullet and grenade attacks to strengthen its ability to deal with terrorists.

Indian Air Force officials said that Light Bullet Proof Vehicles (LBPV) have been included and will be deployed at the airbase to prevent any terrorist attack. He said that this special vehicle weighing six tons has been designed and developed in such a way that its engine is hidden from the front and rear and it cannot be easily targeted.
Officials said that this special vehicle has been provided with security by armed with 6 mm thick armored protection and 40 mm windshield, which can withstand AK-47 and sniper rifle bullets. Officials said that this special vehicle can be run at high speed from 100 to 120 km. Also, it can be run on flat tires.

Six Garun commandos can easily come in the vehicle, while more commandos can come in the open space at the rear. Four terrorists infiltrated the Pathankot airbase and tried to attack the properties stationed there, including fighter aircraft and helicopter gunships. Terrorists were killed and their mission was foiled.

Indian Air Force used Spice Bombs in Balakot Airstrike. The specialty of the Spice Bomb is that it enters the building, tearing the roof of the building and then when the temperature inside the building becomes so high that everything inside is destroyed.

    • Uttarakhand, if the pace of corona infection does not stop and the patient continues to grow, people may have to face some restrictions at other places including Rajdhani Doon. This includes options such as night curfews, along with limiting the number of participants to a public function. In fact, there has been a huge increase in corona infection in the state for the last two weeks and six to seven hundred new patients are coming out in a single day. The worst situation is in the capital Dehradun where more than three hundred patients have been found in a single day.

    • Different states have started imposing various restrictions as the infection progresses in many states of the country. In view of this, now the state government is also under pressure to take tough measures to prevent infection. Sources said that it has been decided to keep an eye on the status of infection in the state for the next one or two days and after that some drastic steps can be taken. However, the matter will first be discussed at a higher level and the decision will be taken only after getting the green signal. Let us know that 1109 new corona patients were found in Uttarakhand on Wednesday and five infected people died.

 COVID-19: Corona's new record in Uttarakhand, five dead with 1109 new cases-

On Wednesday, 1109 new corona patients were found in Uttarakhand and five infected people died. Most of the patients have been found in Dehradun and Haridwar district, due to which the tension of the government has increased. With this, the total number of patients in the state has reached 104711. While the death toll is 1741. According to the Health Bulletin released by the Health Department, on Wednesday, 505 new patients have been found in Dehradun district alone. While 308 new patients have been found in Haridwar. Apart from this, 113 patients have been found in Nainital, 84 in US city, three in Almora, one in Chamoli, five in Champawat, 57 in Pauri, 10 in Rudraprayag, 19 in Tehri.

While no new patients have been found in Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar. On Wednesday, one in AIIMS Rishikesh, two in Sri Mahant Indresh Hospital, one in Himalayan Hospital while one infected patient admitted in Synergy Hospital died. 88 patients admitted to various hospitals of the state were discharged from the hospitals after treatment. With this, the number of patients yet to be cured in the state has risen to 96735. While the number of active patients has increased to 4526.

More than 33 thousand samples were sent from all the districts of the state for examination. The report of more than 30 thousand samples came negative and the report of more than 17 thousand samples is yet to come. The rate of infection in the state is 3.59 percent while the recovery rate of patients is 92 percent. The number of containment zones in the state has increased to 26. Out of which maximum 16 containment zones are in Dehradun district. While Nainital has five, Haridwar has four and Tehri has a Containment Zone.

63 thousand got vaccinated-More than 63 thousand people in the state vaccinated against Corona on Wednesday. In view of the increase in infection, a large number of people are now reaching for vaccination. However, health department officials say that the speed of vaccination is being accelerated further. So far, more than nine lakh people have received a vaccine dose in the state. Whereas more than one lakh 55 thousand people have received two doses of the vaccine.

Maharashtra adds highest 49,447 COVID-19 cases in day; 277 die



Maharashtra on Saturday reported 49,447 fresh COVID-19 cases, the highest rise in a day so far, taking the tally to 29,53,523 while 277 fatalities pushed the toll to 55,656, the state health department said.

Mumbai city also registered 9,108 new infections, the highest spike in a single day.

Previously, Maharashtra had recorded the highest number of 24,619 cases in a day on September 17, 2020.

With 1,84,404 new tests, the total number of samples tested so far in Maharashtra rose to 2,03,43,123, the department said.

The case recovery rate in the state now stands at 84.49 per cent while the fatality rate is 1.88 per cent, it said.

Of the 277 fatalities, 132 deaths had occurred in the last 48 hours, the statement said.

A total of 37,821 patients were discharged during the day, taking the count of recoveries in Maharashtra so far to 24,95,315, it said.

The state is now left with 4,01,172 active cases.

Out of the total population tested so far, 14.52 per cent have tested positive for the virus.

Currently,21,57,135 people remain admitted in the home quarantine while 18,994 people are in the institutional quarantine, the department said.

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said the state government was considering diverting all industrial use oxygen supply for medical use.

In an online interaction with newspaper owners, editors and distributors, Thackeray said a decision on imposing stringent measures to tackle the pandemic will be taken soon but he did not confirm if there will be a statewide lockdown.

The CM also discussed ways to break the virus transmission chain with owners of gyms, multiplexes, and newspaper editors.

Thackeray had on Friday said the health infrastructure would be overwhelmed if the present situation continues for another fortnight in the state.

On Saturday, the Mumbai division, comprising Mumbai city and its satellite towns, recorded 15,989 cases and 58 deaths, taking the tally to 9,35,371 and fatalities to 20,578, the department said.
Nashik division reported 8,418 fresh cases, including 2,459 infections in Nashik city.

Pune division saw 12,268 cases, including 5,778 infections in Pune city and 2,798 detections in Pimpri Chinchwad, the department said.

Nagpur division reported 5,747 cases, including 2,853 infections in Nagpur city, followed by 2,693 infections in Latur division, 1,940 in Akola division, 1,877 in Aurangabad division, and 515 cases in Kolhapur division, it said.

Meanwhile, in Mumbai, 43,597 new tests were conducted during the day, out of which 9,090 people tested positive for coronavirus, the city civic body said.

The case recovery rate in the Mumbai district is 83 per cent while the overall growth rate of cases from March 27 to April 2 is 1.54 per cent.

The doubling rate of cases in Mumbai is now 44 days.


The COVID-19 figures in Maharashtra are as follows: Positive cases 29,53,523, deaths 55,656, rcoveries 24,95,315, active cases 4,01,172, total tests 2,03,43,123, tests today 1,84,404.

The cumulative number of COVID19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 6.75 Crore today.

A total of 6,75,36,392 vaccine doses have been given, as per the provisional report till 8 pm today.

These include 88,48,558 HCWs who have taken the 1st dose and 52,63,108HCWs who have taken the 2nd dose, 93,99,776 FLWs (1st dose), 39,18,646 FLWs (2nd dose), 4,01,06,304 for more than 45 years old.

Total 17,47,094 vaccine doses were given till 8 pm today, the Seventy Sixth day of nationwide COVID19 vaccination. Out of which 16,20,746 beneficiaries were vaccinated for 1st dose and 1,26,348 beneficiaries received 2nd dose of vaccine as per the provisional report. Final reports would be completed for the day by late tonight.

Ministry of Road Transport & Highways accords approval to upgradation, reconstruction and rehabilitation of several projects, across the country

Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has accorded approval to upgradation, rehabilitation and reconstruction ofa number of projects, across the country. The approved projects for different regions and states are as listed below---

Maharashtra: -

  1. Rehabilitation and upgradation of Jalgaon-Bhadraon-Chalisgaon-Nandgaon-Manmad Road on NH 753 J to two lane/four lane has been approved with a budget 252 Crore.
  2. Upgradation of section of Guhaar-Chiplun Road on NH 166 E has been approved with a budget of Rs.171 Crore has been approved.
  3. Upgradation of NH 353C from 262 km to 321 km and construction of 16 minor and major bridges in Gadchiroli district has been approved with a budget of Rs.282 Crore.
  4. Rehabilitation and upgradation of two lanes from Watur to Charthana section of NH 752 I has been approved with a budget of Rs.228 Crore.
  5. Upgradation of section of Tirora-Gondia on NH 753 to two lane has been approved with a budget of Rs.282 Crore.
  6. Upgradation of section of Tarere - Gaganbawda - Kolhapur on NH 166 G has been approved with a budget of Rs.167 Crore.
  7. Upgradation of section of Tirora-Gondia state highway including construction length of 28.2 km on NH 753 has been approved with a budget of Rs.288.13 Crore.
  8. Construction of flyover at Nagpur RTO Chowk to Nagpur University Campus and 4 lane flyover at Wadi/MIDC Junction on NH 53 has been approved with a budget of Rs. 478.83 Crore.
  9. Construction of bridge across Manjra river near Yesgi village in Nanded district on NH 63 has been approved with a budget of Rs.188.69 Crore.
  10. Upgradation of section of Amgaon-Gondia on NH 543 has been approved with a budget of Rs.239.24 Crore.
  11. Upgradation and rehabilitation of section of NH 361F from Parli to Gangakhed has been approved with a budget of Rs.224.44 Crore.

Rajasthan: -

  1. Land acquisition for the work of rehabilitation and up-gradation of Ras - Beawar section of NH-158 in the state of Rajasthan has been approved with a budget Rs. 38.282 Crore.

Odisha: -

  1. Construction of Bypass on NH-59 for Berhampur town including 4L ROB on EPC mode in the state of Odisha has been approved with a budget Rs. 196.94 Crore
  2. Construction of Railway Over Bridge at Matiapada on Puri - Konark Road on EPC mode in the state of Odisha has been approved with a budget Rs. 137.61 Crore.
  3. Reconstruction of 5 submersible bridges replacing them with high level bridges of NH-326 (Malkangiri - Motu) in the state of Odisha has been approved with a budget Rs. 154.05 Crore.

Andhra Pradesh: -

  1. Rehabilitation and upgradation of existing road to 2 Lane with paved shoulder configuration of NH-167BG from Duttaluru to Kavali on EPC mode in the state of Andhra Pradesh has been approved with a budget Rs. 423.68 Crore.
  2. Rehabilitation and upgradation of NH-565 from NagarjunaSagar Dam to Davulapally section to 2 Lane with paved shoulder in the state of Andhra Pradesh has been approved with a budget Rs. 385.97 Crore.

Assam: -

  1. Work of widening/improvement to 4 Lane with paved shoulder from Sagunbashi forest to starting of Krishnai Bypass section (Package 7) of Bilasipura - Guwahati road (NH-17) in the state of Assam has been approved with a budget 286.72 Crore.
  2. Work of widening/improvement to 4 Lane with paved shoulder of Parokhuwa - Dokmoka section (Package - 2) of NH-29 on EPC mode in the state of Assam has been approved with a budget Rs. 335.88 Crore.
  3. Work of widening/improvement to 4 Lane with paved shoulder of Tulungia - Jogighopa bridge approach section (Package - 5) of Bilasipura - Guwahati road (NH-17) on EPC mode in the state of Assam has been approved with a budget Rs. 636.42 Crore.

Telangana: -

  1. Stretch between Bapur - Chincholi - Tandur - Kodangal - Mahabubnagar and Gowrelly - Valigonda - Kothagudem has been declared National Highway and included under BharatmalaPariyojana.

Ladakh: -

  1. Work of widening and upgradation to 2 Lane with paved shoulder of NH-301 Kargil - Zanskar road on EPC mode (Pkg - III) in the UT of Ladakh has been approved with a budget Rs. 381.01 Crore.
  2. Work of widening and upgradation to 2 Lane with paved shoulder of NH-301 Kargil - Zanskar road on EPC mode (Pkg - VIII) in the UT of Ladakh has been approved with a budget Rs. 398.37 Crore.
